Today in Bathroom Mondays: a luxury spa makeover, a designer bathroom, stylish and organized small ones, and designing an easy to clean bathroom.
Our first article today is a great renovation. This bathroom went from old, dated and very dark to light, airy, very modern and spa looking. If you go to the article you will be able to see all the before and after photos and I can assure you that the old room was really dark. I don’t think that bathroom would look clean no matter how much the owners would have cleaned it. It’s one of those unfortunate side effects of old and badly planned bathrooms. Wood panelling behind the toilet and around the basin area and very dark tiles on both walls and floors didn’t do any favours to the space.
And the change is amazing. White marble tile on both walls and floor and an open floor layout make this bathroom look much, much bigger and clean. A built-in shelf in the shower area and a clear glass screen help the overall the overall result and make it look spa like.
It’s a beautiful renovation and very needed one. Jump to the article to read more and see all the before and after photos.
And from one incredible bathroom in marble to another one also in marble. It’s a bathroom designed by Regina Garcia for a house in South Carolina.
It’s a very, very beautiful bathroom with a lovely fresh and luxurious feeling. The walls are painted in a lovely light turquoise/ light blue shade and the floor and skirting are in white marble tile. It has a beautiful antique like tub and a closed shower area completely tiled in coordinated mosaic tiles to the floor. Everything in this bathroom feels luxurious Victorian without the dark colours they tended to use.
It’s a gorgeous bathroom and I definitely encourage you to visit the article and see all the photos.
And after all the previous dreamy bathrooms to more real ones. The ones we have at home. Having a small bathroom doesn’t mean you have to live in a crowded and uncomfortable one. Good planning before any renovation is the tip. And the best way of doing that planning is to see what other people have done in their small bathroom and see how it works and whether it would work in yours.
The article shows ten bathrooms with limited space and all the solutions used in them to make them work. Using sliding doors in the cabinets, making use of all the available storage space, using the space above the toilet to place more shelves, or a chair instead of other types of storage are some of the answers to this type of bathroom.

And we finish with the other problem you are sure going to encounter in almost every bathroom no matter how big or small: cleaning it. Because the best way of having an easy to clean bathroom is as well good planning. A well planned bathroom not only will help you from the space and storage point of view but also from the cleaning point of view.
