Before & After: Bungalow Bathroom Makeover

This is a beautiful renovation with classic touches. The floor was tiled with hexagonal mosaic tiles and the enclosed shower area has vertical green tiles. Those are the only areas of the bathroom tiled, the walls are panelled up to shoulder height. They had an old claw foot tub they wanted to keep. After adding an adjacent closet to increase the size of the room and moving things around, they managed to fit the tub with a separated shower. They painted the panelling and the tub in the same brown tones and it combines beautifully with the grouting on the floor.

The renovation has a very classic look, the results are great and family cat approved.

Safety Plays With Style in Kids' Bathrooms

A few weeks ago we brought a link to an article talking about making bathrooms kid-friendly. This article mentions some of the points in that article and focuses on making bathrooms safe for children. It’s a place where it’s very easy for adults to suffer falls or accidents. For a kid it can be an even more dangerous place. They are small and trying to reach some places might simply make it too easy for something to happen. Going in and out of a tub or shower, trying to reach the basin, it’s along with kitchen one of the most dangerous places for a child in a house.

The article goes about all the ways you can improve the safety in your bathroom: helping them reaching the basin, creating niches instead of shelves to hold things and avoid them bumping their heads, keep things within their reach, having rounded corners and shapes, etc. Lots of tips for parents worried about accidents in the bathroom.
