Some of them make use of more traditional materials such as ferns, and other make use of less thought about materials, such as toilet rolls. Painting the office cabinets

Painting the office cabinets

This project is part of an extensive office remodel. The owner of the house decided to renovate the home office and give it a needed makeover. In this case the article covers the cabinets renovation from plain plywood with oak veneer cabinets to white painted ones.

The process was less straightforward than just preparing and painting them as the veneer was heavily grained and the owner didn’t want to see the grain after painting over. She needed to do a good sanding and then apply a product that will help cover the grain. After that it was easy to paint over and get the result you see above.

The office makeover in full is actually really beautiful (she says she’s more productive in the office after it) and the cabinets makeover is very interesting. The article covers all the steps needed and with full instructions and step by step photos to guide you.

A must read, in our opinion if you are thinking on something similar and want to get information before starting.

This article collects several tutorials to help you transform a plain and cheap mirror into a very unique one without spending lots of money.

As you can see in the photo above the transformation can be striking. The mirror above if bought with that look would have several times more than the cost of all the materials used in the transformation.

Another tutorial makes use of salad bowls to create a “frame” for mirrors and create a very artistic display on the wall.
