Today in DIY Fridays: some great DIY projects for your bedroom, two chests of drawers get a new look and a great DIY folding table for a sewing studio.
Apartment Therapy is a great website with lots of resources if you either are only looking for ideas for your house, information or DIY resources.
In this article they have collected a list of DIY projects ideal for your bedroom. Some of the projects are more advanced than others as it happens with making a pallet bed. Others are simple and very decorative such as creating your collages and hanging them over the bed.
It’s a very diverse list with all kinds of DIY levels perfect for anyone with a bit of interest in creating something. Take a look to them and see if you find something you feel like trying.
Our first chest of drawers renovation is a very simple one. It was part of an interior design project from a professional designer. The owners of the house wanted to keep the chest of drawers so in order to make it fit with the new interior, the designer decided to change its appearance. She hired a professional that sprayed painted the piece: the main frame in white and the drawers in dark grey. New handles and there you have a completely different piece of furniture for very little money.
Whether you want to attempt something like this or hire someone with the skills for it, the truth is that it’s cheaper than buying new furniture if it’s furniture of some quality.

And again another chest of drawers gets a new look. It went from romantic to shabby chic in metallic grey.
The frame had been painted using a green textured paint that made very difficult trying to strip the chest to its bare wood. But even if she tried to paint over she needed to get rid of as much texture as she could. And that meant using big girl toys: an orbital sander to help with the process. After that it was a matter of using some DIY (well described in the article), paint it and you can see the final result.

Our last DIY project is a custom made sewing table. In order to save space it’s also foldable which also helps save space when it’s not in use.
Because the table was going to be used when working on crafting or sewing projects, they needed it to have a higher height than your average office table. In this kind of situations you would be better served by a custom made piece of furniture. And in this case it was a DIY solution made by the husband.
