Today in House Tours Tuesdays we continue visiting our favourite entries from the Apartment Therapy Small Cool Contest 2012.
This is a very, very small apartment of 250 square feet (23.23 square metres). And even though is really tiny, it manages to have the incredible bathroom you see above. It’s a great bathroom with great tiling and a full bath. The overall look of the apartment is the look of a very stylish hotel double room. The grey from the bathroom extends to the living/bedroom area and it looks fantastic along with the wood flooring. The black is also used in the kitchenette area.
It’s a great apartment that makes you believe you are in a very stylish hotel instead of a tiny apartment. Jump to the article to read more and see all the photos.
Another great apartment making use of black, grey and dark woods on flooring and furniture. This apartment is much bigger than the previous one but it’s still only 650 square feet (60.39 square metres). It doesn’t have a regular shape in it proportions, as you can see in the photo above. But still it manages to have a very good layout that allows for a great living/dining/ kitchen room. The kitchen area is separate from the rest of the living/dining room area as it’s placed in one of the nooks in the apartment. The corridor has been used to place the bathroom and a big walk-in closet leading to the bedroom. Thanks to that great layout it feels big and spacious.
The decor in the apartment is really beautiful. Pattern is used in one of the walls in the living room with a great damask design that combines perfectly with the dark wood flooring and furniture. In the bathroom simple simple grey horizontal stripes are used to create an optical illusion of space. Overall it’s a great success. Jump to the article to read more and see all the photos.
Another great apartment making used of great colour, again grey, and great flooring. In this case the apartment is quite big compared to the previous two ones, but it’s still not very big. It’s a 977 square feet (90.77 square metres).
As you can see in the picture above the dining/entrance room has a beautiful horizontal pattern in grey that contrasts beautifully with the warm tones on the wood floor and the bright painted bookcase and accessories. Grey is also used in a chevron pattern artwork hanged above the sofa. That wall is used as accent wall and focal point in that area and has been painted black. Strong colours in just one wall create a great accent or focal point in any room. The rest of the apartment is also very beautiful.

And we finish today’s apartments with one of the smallest in the smallest in the contest and the smallest of today’s links. This apartment is really tiny at just 240 square feet (22.30 square metres). And in that small space it manages to have a bedroom, bathroom, living/dining/kitchen area. All that is achieved thanks to the high ceilings. They allowed to create a loft area where the bedroom was placed above the kitchen area.
In such a small space is difficult to have storage space and the stairs are used as extra storage space too. But in our opinion the layout and the creative use of the high ceilings feature is what it makes this apartment great.
