Today in House Tours Tuesdays we have a bit of everything. A calm and filled with light house in California, a colourful one in Toronto, a very well designed apartment in Manhattan and finally a first house renovation in Tel Aviv, Israel.

The owners of this house decided to renovate this house after living for a while in it. And they did it keeping themselves within budget with great results. The walls throughout the house are painted white, but doesn’t make the space cold or uninviting thanks to the warm wood floors and furniture. Beautiful rugs in the living room and bathroom help as well. The kitchen has a wonderful and very practical tiled floor.

A bachelor’s house with a great use of colour and a very inviting feeling. The walls are painted in grey and navy blue, and kitchen cabinets are also painted in a shade of grey. The surprising thing is how warm and inviting the result is. Grey might be considered a boring colour but this house proves it’s not boring at all when use carefully and can actually be a very interesting colour.

The second link adds more photographs and small changes made to the house last year.

A must see apartment. Small but feels very spacious thanks to the custom built wardrobe wall and murphy bed (upright folding bed). The wardrobe wall painted in bright blue looks very modern and stylish and combines very well with the parquet floor and black units in the kitchenette area. It makes a great use of all the available space

And we finish with a renovation. This was the first house for this couple and if you see the before photos you will notice that the apartment was in need of renovation. What is surprising is how successful they have been in their first attempt. And again today we see a great use of grey on a painted wall.

The kitchen was opened to the living room creating a much bigger space and increasing the amount of light in it. The main wall in the living room was made a feature wall exposing the bricks and making it a perfect frame for the wall mounted tv. Tiles and wood are used as flooring on the apartment. It’s without any doubt a very successful renovation.
