Today in Kitchen Thursdays: craftsman-style in your kitchen, movable storage units there, planning a remodel and advice for your renovation from other kitchen owners.
Craftsman style appeared in the 20th century and it was a reaction the fussiness of Victorian decoration. It was a coming back to the basics and to a more simple living style. A craftsman style house and kitchen should be above all practical. Everything in a space has to be there for a reason and has to have a function. There is no room in this style for elements with just a decorative function: if it’s not going to be used it shouldn’t be there.
Some of the elements of this style in the kitchen are the use of natural wood, clean line cabinets, simple but functional and practical lighting, earthy colours, handcrafted tiles and stone, etc. There is an emphasis on using natural materials and elements to remind you with nature.

This article shows you different kitchens with this type of solution. There is a variety of units in wheels even though most of them work as kitchen islands. But the variety of ways this is used will surely inspire you to maybe use it in your house.
