Gas Boiler Services
Gas Boiler Services
You should have your oil or gas boiler serviced every year, to help keep its efficiency at its peak level and to make sure your boiler safety features are working correctly. All our services come with a certificate of conformance.
Gas Fires must also be serviced each year, the flue must be unblocked and vents in the room must be kept open to prevent Carbon Monoxide poisoning.
If your gas boiler is over ten years old and is starting to give you problems, you should consider replacing it. As boilers get old they become less efficient than when they were, also some safety aspects may not be up to today’s standards. So before spending money on your old boiler with repairs, having it replaced will save you money in the long term. When getting your gas boiler replaced, consider its sedbuk rating (see below) I replace most boilers with sedbuk A or B rated models (over 86% efficient) where practical.

Carbon Monoxide (Causes of CO Poisoning)
Carbon monoxide poisoning occurs after enough inhalation of carbon monoxide (CO). Carbon monoxide is a toxic gas, but, being colorless, odorless, tasteless, and initially non-irritating, it is very difficult for people to detect. Carbon monoxide is a product of incomplete combustion of organic matter due to insufficient oxygen supply to enable complete oxidation to carbon dioxide (CO2). It is often produced in domestic or industrial settings by older motor vehicles and other gasoline-powered tools, heaters, and cooking equipment. Exposures at 100 ppm or greater can be dangerous to human health.
